Making a Difference,
One Project at a Time
We are a community. A community of neighbors, friends and family. A community of people with the desire to help others, and a community of people in need. And from day one, it has been our mission to uplift this community. Every nonprofit we provide with financial assistance is based right here in our community. They’re putting in the time, the work and the effort to help others. They give all they can to make a difference in the lives of the people of Boone County, which is why we do all we can to make a difference in their lives.
From a Vision to a Legacy
The Boone County Community Trust was established in 1974 by R.B. Price II. As a banker and community leader, R.B. had spent his life providing financial services and advice to the people of Boone County, and realized his knowledge and experience could be used to create a more prosperous community devoted to helping others. Since his initial capital investment of $650,000, our holdings have reached over $4 million thanks to the prudent financial advice and oversight of our advisers and the generosity of individual and legacy gifts.
It was R.B.’s vision to see our Trust become a perpetual source of funding for organizations in need. And our success has become not only his legacy, but our contributors’ as well — with over $4 million in financial assistance given to more than 250 local organizations since our founding.
A Foundation Built on Community

Why We Help
Because the Boone County Community Trust exists independently of any larger organizations or businesses, we’re able to quickly respond to grant requests, shift our focus to whomever needs immediate assistance and provide grants to a variety of organizations. And it’s why we remind ourselves every day that we were founded under the idea of being available to any nonprofit that uplifts our community.

Who We Help
From organizations helping children, the elderly, people with disabilities and people in need of food or shelter, to the arts, education and historical preservation groups, the Boone County Community Trust is always here to provide funding to those who give their all for this community. And this approach to bettering Boone County from every direction has been an integral part of our plan since we first began.

How We Help
Twice a year, our board meets to review all grant requests for capital projects. And while capital campaign funding is given primary consideration, we consider any certified nonprofit organization requesting our assistance. We encourage you to look at our list of grant recipients to see the range of organizations we’ve been able to help.
