Impact Story
Job Point
Job Point has served a crucial role in mid-Missouri since 1965 through their dedication to helping individuals secure and maintain employment. This empowering organization not only offers comprehensive job placement with sustained follow-along support, they also run seven trade certification courses, including the highly valuable Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) training and in-demand warehouse trades programs. Beyond that, Job Point operates the YouthBuild Program, where students aged 16 to 24 earn their high school equivalency (HiSET) while gaining construction skills through the rewarding act of building homes in the community.
Over the years, the Boone County Community Trust (BCCT) has served as a long-term financial partner for Job Point. This partnership ensures the organization can focus entirely on its mission instead of worrying about maintenance and facility repairs. BCCT’s support spans decades, having funded vital facility projects such as a roof replacement in 1986, a much-needed kitchen upgrade for the YouthBuild Program in 2015 and new flooring during a major remodel in 2023. Today, the Trust is actively assisting Job Point’s capital campaign, a critical step toward realizing their ambitious future goal of establishing a dedicated construction college and campus.
